Anime Question Submissions Open for Masatoshi Chioka & Yukio Kaizawa for Digimon Con

Bandai-Namco has announced they will be taking fan questions for the Anime Corner segment of Digimon Con.


Questions can be submitted by posting to the comments section of this page on Digimon Partners. Submissions close January 19th.


The questions will be answered by:
Masatoshi Chioka, director of the currently running Digimon Ghost Game.
Yukio Kaizawa, director of Digimon Tamers, currently celebrating it's 20th Anniversary.


Both have long histories with the Digimon anime.

I was tempted to ask Yukio Kaizawa what he thought of the stunt that Kokona (I don't know how to spell that) last year, but that would be a pretty insensitive comment. I instead asked if we were going to see the digimon in the anime DIM cards as alternate evos in the anime or if they were filler.

I think it was stated already that some of them will be in the anime as enemies, and some won’t get in at all. Gammamon’s the only one to get alternate forms, I’m afraid.

This was my assumption as well. I was hoping to get more information on how they would be implemented.

I may be misremembering and attributing my own assumption as fact, then, yeah.
I still think the likelihood of us actually getting older Digimon as forms used in the show is slim-to-none, though. The last time newly-designed Partner Digimon Digivolved into older ones was Savers…and even then, that was a (slightly) redesigned Kudamon keeping the same line as the original one, rather than a wholly new Digimon becoming a much older one.
I mean, it’d genuinely be great if Angoramon suddenly became Leomon…but the lack of any other forms presence in the opening or the like implies that even if that did happen, it’d only be as a one-off, like Ponchomon or BlitzGreymon in Adventure: rather than a recurring alternate form like Pegasusmon was, or Kaus is (and presumably Wezen and Gulus will be) in GG. Which is still better than nothing, but something of a waste, in my opinion.

The last time newly-designed Partner Digimon Digivolved into older ones was Savers…and even then, that was a (slightly) redesigned Kudamon keeping the same line as the original one, rather than a wholly new Digimon becoming a much older one.

Savers also had Lalamon into Rosemon.

Thanks! I felt I was missing one, but I knew it wasn’t Falcomon, because both of the older Digimon in his line were redesigns.

When the dude was asked if digimon from the dim cards were going to appear in the anime and he respond "some will be used" he is clearly referring to Symbare, Lamort, Thetis, Tesla, Canoweiss, etc. Not to Abubismon, Ancientmermaimon and the other older mons that they used to fill the dim cards roster, why do u guys are thinking that? because gammamon have more than 1 adult? i mean, all his adults from the dim are new, and he is the protagonist, how many times we have seen the protagonist having more evolutions than the rest? Im 100% sure that angoramon isnt going to evolve into anything from his dim that isnt symbare or lamort.

We could still get 1 episode weird Ultimates ala the 4 extra ultimates from 2020.
