Quetzals are forest birds found in central and south America. They have brightly colored green wings and red bellies, yet become camouflaged quite well among trees. Some have specialized methods of picking fruit, but may also eat insects and other small animals. They burrow into tree trunks to nest. The name refers to the notable tail feathers which may be longer than the rest of the bird's body.
