Agumon & Tyranomon Previews for Booster Set 2

New card previews from the Digimon Card Game!

The Digimon Card Game Twitter has updated with more card previews from Booster Set 2 Ultimate Power. This time it's the Agumon and Tyranomon cards.

The 2 well known Digimon return as green cards this time. Agumon is drawing in a very animeish style sitting on a log in the midst of flowers, while Tyranomonappears to in the midst of a fight, both slashing and breathing fire (while the motion blurring makes it appear he's running or moving quickly.)

Some very nice, and wildly different in style, cards.



Digimon Card Game Booster Set 2 Ultimate Power is scheduled to release on July 22nd.

This Agumon can't digivolve to the Greymon line in this set, weird. I guess they just want him to be Tyrannomon's rookie for this, but they couldve used someone else for that. Oh well I guess. These guys being green still makes no sense. Now Agumon can become dudes like Togemon and and Kabuterimon lol. I guess it's better than every single one being Red

Also Agumon is legally contracted to appear in every single set (Tai was there so it was obvious lol, but I do wonder if this lizard will be in every single set).

I should've expected a Green Agumon as soon as we saw RustTyrannomon. Gotta say, I've really come around to love the Tyrannomon line as of late, so I'm really happy to see more of them.

[When Digivolved] reveal the top 3 cards of your deck. Add 1 Lv. 5 Digimon and 1 Green Tamer from amongst them to your hand. Put the rest on the bottom of your deck in any order

Looks like the card game is really leaning to the "any Digimon can evolve into any Digimon" philosophy.

This was not something I expected, although I probably should have lol. Really happy with that Agumon art, it's beautiful.

I'm a big fan of deck mixing and stuff like that so this is great. Both are pretty great cards for green in general, but obviously work best with RustTyranomon and Taiga.

I like the agumon card puttin him in a quiet forest so it being in green isnt TOO outta place, i commend the artist
but the tyrannomon very much looks like it should go back to red lol

These guys being green still makes no sense. Now Agumon can become dudes like Togemon and and Kabuterimon lol.

Fun fact, in the old card game, agumon could evolve into Togemon, Shurimon and Ogremon lmao
Its even weirder there cuz that game had like, specific evolutions instead of just the type, so they picked those on purpose??

yes, definitely, but this isn't the best example of that as Agumon was Tyrannomon's canon rookie level since the very first Digimon product and Tryannomon has never had a different "more canon" rookie since then, it's just always been Agumon which I think fits very well for the species. I also find it interesting how green Agumon seems to be more of an afterthought to a broader idea of Tyrannomon support in this set and that if they didn't focus on Tyrannomon, we probably wouldn't have gotten green Agumon

If they do just make a Blue Agumon card I hope they go all out with it and give him a snorkel and those arm floating device things and one of those doughnut shaped things that you sit on in water. basically just go "see, Agumon is totally a Water Digimon guys".

I was referring more to Agumon being green and thus being able to come an go to things like Tanemon, Woodmon, etc. And there was a chance of Agumon appearing in all colors anyway, being the franchise's mascot and all.

And blue Agumon already has an excuse: he is Zeromaru's canon child, who is a blue card.

They actually did that joke already with a Deep Savers Etemon card in Hyper Colosseum

The artwork in these cards continues to blow me away. I really should get some of these; they’re gorgeous.
