Nihon-Eiga, a Japanese film channel, will be running a handful of anime films connected to popular franchises, kicking it all off on Children's Day, the final day of Golden Week.

Included in these are the 2 best known Digimon movies: Digimon Adventure (the Movie) and Digimon Adventure: Children's War Game.

They note that the films chosen for the 'event' consist of theatrical films of popular series, which include well known works by famous anime director's that make Japan proud around the world, and that even with the films using well-known characters, you can feel the unique attributes of the directors.

We won't be going over all of them, just the Digimon movies, although ti's neat to see DIgimon be included with some highly regarded anime films, although if you aren't in japan you won't be able to catch them...

Each of the pages on Nihon-Eiga includes a small editorial bit about the film, on top of the normal film details. We've included a quicky translation of them.

Digimon Adventure (the movie) will air:
May 5th at 2:30pm
May 17th at 4:55pm
June 14th at 5pm

Mamoru Hosoda's directorial debut, which was released prior to the Digimon TV anime series. Although it's a short story of 20 minutes, you can see the attention to detail everywhere and condenses the adventures of the main characters in the digital world.

Digimon Adventure: Children's War Game will air:
May 5th at 3pm
May 17th at 5:25pm
May 21st at 3:50pm
June 14th at 5:30pm

This is the second theatrical release of the Digimon series, which depicts the main characters confronting a rampaging Digimon in the internet. It features the appearance of computers and other IT-related communications devices, as well as the expression of digital space, and is a good film directed by Mamoru Hosoda, continuing from the first film.
