Either intentionally or unintentionally, that guy is a grown-up version of the Ryo Akiyama from Our War Game. Probably the authors didn't have any idea that this guy was Ryo, or even who is Ryo to begin with.

Wasn't Mille killed and/or taken to the Tamersverse by Ryo in the form of Cyberdramon? If this was the case tri. would have to find a really creative and logical way to bring him back, but I'm kinda worried about how you do that without giving all of us a giant headache...[QUOTE]

In Brave Tamer, Monodramon forced a fusion with Millenniummon creating the digiegg that hatched into the Cyberdramon of Tamers however in that same game Millenniummon travelled through time and alternate realities so he could have travelled to the time of the events of Tri.

Regarding Millenniummon, even assuming that he's truly 'sealed' within Monodramon beyond the point of creating some time paradox to save himself, his influence on Cyberdramon's personality seems to be very strong. For all we know, they could make something up in which he just corrupts his way out of that body. And since time and space aren't much of a boundary for him, it's all pretty straightforward from there.

Or the Adventure and Tamers Ryos could simply be different characters.
Brave Tamer never specifies what happened to the egg, so Millenniumon could return in any number of ways.

The Ryos not being the same would contradict Hiromi Seki's statement. About Brave Tamer, didn't Ryo go with the egg to the Tamers universe through ENIAC's portal? Also, in the Tamers CD Drama, Ryo mentioned he believed the enemy, stronger than the four holy beasts, that, Cyberdramon had to fight until death was inside Cyberdramon himself. With the games, it makes sense, inside Cyberdramon's body, Monodramon's essence was fighting against ZeedMillenniumon's essence.

Ryo wasn't shown going to the Tamers universe at the end of Brave Tamer. The game left what happened to him up to debate. Really, if you look at it, the game Ryo and anime Ryo being the same character doesn't make much sense. I mean, in the CD drama you brought up, Ryo says that meeting Cyberdramon was his first Digimon encounter. Also, if he’s from the Adventure universe he shouldn’t have a father in the Tamers universe.

ENIAC and Calumon implied he went there. It may not make much sense for them to be the same character but that's what the producers say. About Ryo mentioning being surprised to see a real digimon, his memories could have been erased, like what happened to the different series' protagonists at the end of the Adventure PSP game. As for his father, perhaps he was an adoptive father, it's possible ENIAC arranged a new life for Ryo in the Tamers universe.
