Digimon Thanksgiving 2018 Announced for July, Replacement for DigiFes?

Well, this is a fun surprise!

No official imagery yet, so just a fun image we've used before!

Toei has announced a new event that they are calling 'Digimon Thanksgiving 2018 - Special Meeting in Odaiba' which will take place on Sunday, July 29th at the United Cinemas Aqua City Odaiba at 6pm (with doors opening 30 minutes earlier.)

It's scheduled to include appearances by 'Digimon series' cast, staff, and artists that will also include various talks and live performances.

It appears we should consider this a replacement for DigiFes.

    More details to come soon.

    'Thanksgiving'?

Given that Tri will be done by then, the name change makes it seem like this'll be the last one. But hopefully, I'm wrong.

This looks promising If all the 'Digimon series' are featured, I'm totally in!! Ps. So you guys think this one would be the last one? :/ Why is that?

*shrug* Just a gut feeling, based on the timing of the name change.

The validity of that statement hurts so much.

The title made me wonder if the Japanese were adopting the American Thanksgiving holiday, but research went and told me that we kinda gave it to them already.

There's a terrible truth to that, but it keeps making me crack up.

It's also always the end of Super Sentai/Kamen Rider. But this is oddteresting. Will want to see more. Also I like Marc's avatar.

That's just a coincidence in the English version of the name and the timing. It really has no relationship to the American holiday besides having origins in a harvest festival. Now it's more of a day to celebrate workers. Nothing really happens except for a day of work. Most Japanese people don't even know what Thanksgiving is... which is why I think the naming is a bit weird.

Here's to hoping they announce some new things. A new series maybe?

    Hence "kinda".

A new series could be very nice.
