Cover Art for tri. Part 6 ED, Butter-Fly tri. Version & Theater Version Blu-ray

It's been awhile since we found out about these...

    Image Thumbnail (custom)

The cover to both versions of the upcoming tri. Part 6 end theme, the new version of Butter-Fly tri. Version!

It features fantastic new art featuring all the kids and their Digimon looking up at shining butterflies in the night sky.

The cover also features the title and singers listed in English:
    The DigiDestined
Digimon singers (poor Toei... they missed their own pun in the translation.)
    Ayumi Miyazaki
    AiM
    Koji Wada

The CD will be released on May 2nd and there will be 2 versions:
A normal edition for 741 yen. The text on this one is blue.
A first print limited edition for 1,481 yen. The limited edition will include a paper jacket and a mini pin-up poster of the art from the jacket. The text on this one is orange.

Pre-Orders are available at CDJapan (affiliate links.)

We also have a preview of the new version of Butter-Fly from a promotional video.

    Update- A store exclusive.

    Image Thumbnail (custom)

Animate stores will have bromide prints featuring the first tri. Part 6 theatrical poster image for buyers of either CD of the new version of Butter-Fly in stores on the day of release.

Prior thread with news about the ED is here.

And on top of that we have the cover for the theater version tri. Part 6 Blu-ray!

    Image Thumbnail (custom)

The art for the theatrical version Blu-ray of tri. Part 6 looks really great, and uses the first theater poster.

The bright blue really looks great against the white background.

Like prior tri. theatrical versions, it will include a paper sleeve (the white/blue cover) and an insert based on the theatrical poster.

It will also include the liner notes, but will not include the bonus booklet. We don't have a full image spread for Part 6's theater Blu-ray, so have included Part 5's as an example.

    Image Thumbnail (custom)

The disc itself is expected to be the same as the normal tri. Part 6 Blu-ray but with a custom label.

It will be available May 5th (the day the theatrical release begins) at theaters showing tri. Part 6 and cost 7,407 yen. Stock will be very limited for those interested.

    Image Thumbnail (custom)

For those who won't be at theaters in Japan and want to get tri. Part 6, the DVD will be 7,000 yen and the Blu-ray will be 8,000 yen and be available June 2nd. In their initial release both will be in digipak packaging along with an additional booklet.

There will also be Amazon exclusive versions which include a box to hold the first print versions..

And tri. Part 6 is currently available to pre-order right now if you want to hop in early! CDJapan links are affiliate, Amazon Japan are not.

Seeing how they are using the dub terminology in the Japanese product for some reason ("DigiDestined" instead of proper "Chosen Children", do they they think it's cooler or what?), the pun seems to have been dropped intentionally, because "Digimon Shinkers" doesn't make any sense in dub terminology.

    Digimon DigiVolvers anyone?

It was mostly brought up because often when people translate it they miss the pun entirely (seemingly believing it to be a misspelling/typo in Japanese, or simply not wanting to deal with it, are my best guesses), so the lack of it or an equivalent (akin to what you suggested) was worth noting.

Seeing "Digi destined" intrigues me. Like when they have dub terms in Tri, they seem to be being a lot more "dub friendly" with their products. Perhaps they'd noticed a lot of western fans buy their Japanese products? or it's for marketing to western etc? The explaination above says something about a pun but is that relevant for a Japanese product?
