My 1997 Verison 3 digimon V-Pet buttons don’t work at all.
Nothing registers and it’s hard to find any info on how to fix it.
I read one form that suggest the buttons have a sort of carbon conductive stamp on the buttons to complete the circuit.
Any ideas how to fix this?
Maybe it’s just a matter of cleaning the buttons and motherboard or will it be more complicated?

I was able to fix it by using rubbing alcohol to clean the carbon connectors on the buttons and reassembling it works completely normal now.

Step by step:

Take off the battery cover and the four screws on the back of the device

Careful seperate the plastic where you connect the devices for battle and be careful because the speak wire is connected to the back on the device rotate the back carefully and undo the two small screws on the mother board

Push lightly on the screen and it’ll pop out of the front where then you can access the buttons that’s when I used rubbing alcohol and cleaned the under side you’ll see black stamps on the buttons.

Reassemble and it should work.

Best testing the connection with something conductive and be sure that is the actual problem first.
I used tin foil I had laying around and then I used some tweezers after reassembling without buttons.

Hope this helps anyone who has the same issue.

Very easy job just take your time and be careful.
