There wasn't even a moment's hesitation. Archen's wing came down hard on the Chapmon one final time, and the defeated Digimon shattered into hundreds of tiny voxels. As the fragments began to dissolve, a blue, spiked object became visible floating just above the ground. It, too, dissolved after a moment, followed by a high-pitched beeping from Oliver's D-Terminal.
"ITEM REGISTERED," M.A.R.N.I. reported. "IRREGULAR GROWTH PLUGIN RECEIVED."
His Digivice also reported that Popomon had gained 3 Mb worth of experience, raising it to level 3. The Pokédex showed that Archen had gained 27 experience points.
Marjorie's command did not go unheeded, but her opponent was very slightly faster.
"Atomic Bomber Tail!" the Nyaromon cried, somewhat over-dramatically. The hairs on its tail stood up and stiffened into a needle-like form, which the little Digimon then used to strike Yuramon. The damage dealt was, of course, nowhere close to the level suggested by the attack's pretentious name, but against a Fresh Digimon, it left a visible mark.
Undeterred, Yuramon followed through with Marjorie's command.
"Adhesive Bubbles!" it yelled. A trail of bubbles came drifting out of where one assumed its mouth was, some of them popping on contact with the Nyaromon and causing some damage, while the rest stuck to its fur, impeding its movement somewhat.
It was tough to say who had the upper hand at this point. The Nyaromon had dealt more damage, holding on at 88.2% health while Yuramon was at 76.9%, but Yuramon had managed to reduce Nyaromon's speed by one stage.

Gennai was, of course, right where he had been before, most likely waiting in case any more DigiDestined appeared. As yet, none had, but two Digi-Eggs had appeared; probably from deresolutions, he figured. The current DigiDestined were obviously hard at work.
At the sound of David's footfalls, Gennai turned with eyebrows raised, the sight of Mokumon's bare Digicore causing him mild alarm.
"Oh, dear me," he said. "My most sincere apologies, I didn't realize the Digimon in the forest would be quite that strong already."
He pointed in the direction of the city's main district, a much more modern-looking area.
"There's a repair shop in File City's main district run by Datamon, where you can have your Digimon defragmented and debugged. It isn't an instantaneous process, so if your Pokémon are in similar shape, you could probably return to your own world and take them to a Pokémon Center while you're waiting."
After a moment, he gave a wry smile.
"You should probably also feed them, if you haven't already. Battling works up quite an appetite."

The two Digimon grinned broadly, holding up the mushrooms in their arms for Celia to inspect.
"You see," said Pumpkinmon, "we're trying to collect as many Digimushrooms as we can. They keep our lord Myotismon....happy."
"It's a hard job for just the two of us," Gotsumon elaborated. "But we can't quit. If Lord Myotismon ever ran out of mushrooms, he'd be furious, and all we'd hear twenty-four-seven would be 'kill this, destroy that, bring me a latte', and that's not good news for anyone."
"It'd sure be a lot easier if we had some help," said Pumpkinmon. "And around here, there's no better help than a Digimon tamer!"
Gotsumon nodded in agreement.
"So here's our proposal," it said. "As you travel around the Digital World, try and collect as many Digimushrooms as you can find for us, and for every....oh, let's say, twenty-five mushrooms you bring us, we'll give you something cool!"
"Growth Plugins, Option Cards, even Digivolutions, if we've got 'em," Pumpkinmon offered. "So, what do you say? Will you lend us a hand?"
They waited expectantly for Celia's answer. If she had been playing this from the other side of the screen, this would probably be the part where the "Yes/No" box came up.
