David looked around the forest, he was especially fixated on the ground "huh, guess it's not modelled after that old PlayStation game after all, when I heard Native Forest I thought big screens with directions on the ground, also Digimushrooms, but especially big TV screens on the ground" Mokumon looked confused "What's a PlayStation, is it edible?" slightly startled by the unexpected response of his partner who hadn't really said anything up until now "Oh... well considering youre made out of fire and smoke technically anything is edible to you, whether it will taste well is another thing entirely, take me for example, I don't taste very well, the experience or data or whatever from the wild Digimon there on the other hand is quite tasty"
Celia's Kuramon was right to be interested in that bush. Within moments of Celia's inquiry, a tiny, blue and white creature leaped out and assumed a battle stance.
A wild DemiVeemon appeared!
David and Mokumon's conversation, meanwhile, was being watched with great curiosity by what looked like a baby aquatic dinosaur floating just inches above the ground.

Observing her Digivice, which had just lit up with information about the wild Digimon, Lia muttered, "So you're a DemiVeemon, huh...?"
She shoved the Digivice into her pocket, fixing the DemiVeemon with a cold stare. This one didn't look too formidible for her and Kuramon. Besides, she had her Totodile to fall back on if things went awry.
"I'd hate to have a cute Digimon like you beat up, but if you're gonna fight, then I don't really have a choice, do I?"
David, upon identifying the Difimon, briefly contemplated the odds "Let's see... he's one evolution level higher, has an elemental advantage and Mokumon has no attribute..."
David looked at Mokumon "You'll have to dodge the bubbles, shouldn't be too hard they're bubbles, known for floating slowly"
David proceeded to confidently order Mokumon "Now, charge at him while we can still get the first strike!"
Pearce watched intently as both David and Celia came across some new Digimon, both bigger than their own. They all had entered a battle stance, and Pearce noticed this was all remarkable similar to a Pokemon battle. He reached back and felt the Pokeball in his back pocket, it soothed the nerves Pearce had developed over fighting these new creatures that he didn't have any experience with, outside of a video game. This was remarkably different compared to the fact that Pearce had attended trainer school religiously back in the 'real' world. Being thrown into something he had no real experience with, kinda gave him the creeps.
As he watched Mokumon and Kuramon square up bravely against these new Digimon, Fufumon started to squirm in his hands, before jumping over his shoulder and looking around with intent eyes. Pearce turned and knew that Fufumon had obviously seen something, but whatever it was had disappeared. At least, that was what Pearce thought for a moment, before he saw a shadow moving in the corner of his eyes.
The DemiVeemon stood very still, watching Celia's Kuramon intently, like it was waiting to see what it would do.
At David's command, Mokumon sprang into action, but Bukamon was very slightly faster. It rushed forward and swiped at Mokumon with one of its flippers, missing the first time, but landing a solid hit with the second strike.
However, solid or not, the attack appeared to have no effect whatsoever. The Bukamon paused, confused, giving Mokumon an opening to attack, also missing with its first swipe but following with two moderately strong blows.
Which....also did absolutely nothing.
Meanwhile, the shadow Pearce had glimpsed finally came into full view: a small, pink ball with a long, red feather on its back and the face and wings of a bird.

"Kuramon, go for it," Lia ordered, folding her arms. "Let's see what you can do."
She honestly wasn't expecting very much from Kuramon, but, as she reminded herself, looks could deceive...
David's jaw went wide open "What the hell? 4 attacks and absolutely nothing?!"
The tamer collected himself before he gave Mokumon his next order
"okay, Mokumon charge with the flame on your head at his hair to set it on fire!"
No sooner were the words out of Celia's mouth than the DemiVeemon charged forward, not even giving Kuramon time to react.
"Pop Attack!" it cried, slamming into the jellyfish headfirst and knocking it back.
Though dazed, Kuramon quickly recovered and pressed a counterattack.
"Glare Eye!" it shouted, forcefully spewing a frothy substance from its single eye which sent DemiVeemon sliding back several inches.
Whether she was paying attention to it or not, Celia's Digivice displayed that Kuramon was at 76.9% health, while DemiVeemon was still at 89.5%. Kuramon's Digivolution charge had also risen to 16.645%.
Mokumon did its best to try and follow David's command, charging toward its opponent at top speed, but the Bukamon was able to easily strafe out of the way. It glared at David with an indignant expression.
"Hey, what are you trying to pull?!" it said. "Where I come from, that's called fighting dirty! Play by the rules, you big cheater!"
The Poromon simply hovered in midair, watching Pearce and Fufumon warily.

Noticing her Digivice had lit up again from within her pocket, Celia pulled it out, taking in the information it displayed. This didn't look very good for Kuramon; chances are it'd be defeated before it could do the same to DemiVeemon. Her Totodile would likely stand a better chance against the Digimon.
"Kuramon, that's enough! Get back!" she commanded, producing the Poké Ball that contained her Totodile. Pushing the center button to enlarge it, she threw it out, calling, "Go for it, Totodile!"
