In Data Squad the Gizmon (Gizmon, Gizmon AT, Gizmon XT) will all be Gizumon (Gizumon, Gizumon AT, and Gizumon XT).

They won't talk, just effects noises.

what's the point of adding a 'u'? If anything, it makes it even more like Gizamon than before.

I think it would be Giz-oo-mon. Not giz-uh-mon. Like the Japanese pronunciation.

No not once, though it may have made electronic noises I don't remember.

I'm tired of them doing this Corruption crap, if a Bunch of people on the internet can get it right so can the People Deciding dub names

I agree, back in the days of the Adventure Dub it's understandable because anime was just starting to really catch on America. Now there is just no excuse but laziness.

What's funnier are alot of the changes are coming from Toei.

So if you say anyone is ruining the show...

I don't see it as any worse than previous Japanese seasons' attempts to tell Japanese children that Kimeramon was actually called Chimairamon, anyway.

I must be missing something. How exactly does Toei make any dub changes? Do they translate the script when they sell their products now?

Much like Kadokawa, Toei does 2 DIFFERENT things now.

Some shows are simply licensed.

Other's they license to 'themselves' (Toei Animation USA) who does the show themselves (often with 'help' {distribution, production, dubbing}).

Examples

Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo is not licensed by 'anyone', it is a Toei Animation USA show aired on Cartoon Network and released on DVD by Illumitoon.

Fullmetal Panic the Second Raid by Funimation and Haruhi by Bandai are close to the same deal (though those are Kadokawa, not Toei)

Every bit of checking I've done suggests the same is true for Data Squad.

The credits for Data Squad itself suggests this

screencap from the first episode

http://www.db-destiny.net/datasquad-copyright.jpg

The only credit for Disney/Jetix/Saban whatever is the 2002 one for ABC Family and BVS International, which is in relation to stuff from the older seasons most likely and the fact that they most likely own the american copyright to the 'name' Digimon (otherwise the copyright would be updated with a 2007 date).

While Disney does get a decent amount of say because it airs on THEIR channel.  It is Toei's show in the USA, so quite a few of the studio mandated edits most probably come from them.

The fact that Disney has done little to no promotion for the series would seem to cement it, as would the toys.  Bandai normally does 2 company logos on the front of toys, Bandai and the company that 'owns' the show.  For Power Rangers instead of a Disney logo it's a Jetix logo.  For Data Squad, no Disney logo, no Jetix logo, no Buena Vista logo, but I see Toei's little.....bear? thing with a hat.

So the licensor for Data Squad is....Toei themselves.

Which at the end of the day makes them fully responsible for Data Squad since they obviously have full approval and Nimoy has even said certain things he wanted to do (Naomi instead of Nanami) were shot down by higher ups.

I've heard people say otherwise when the show was still unlicensed. I guess this proves them wrong. Smiley

I was hoping for Gizumon rather than Gizmon - for some reason i never liked how Gizmon sounded (like Archnemon > Arukenimon, they pronouced it Arukenimon in the orginal)
