I'm honestly not as freaked out over this name as a lot of people are. Although Keenan Noguchi sounds a little better, in my book. I will admit, it does feel a bit more random than Masaru -> Marcus or Tohma -> Thomas.

A bit random, but atleast better than having Crier as his name. Keenan is such a Crier.  His parent´s names however are not that random. Kenji ->Kevin Misuzu->Michelle |

While generally Digimon dub names do have some connection to the japanese name it isn't always the case.
