Yes, we finally have another episode out (oh the long road this took lol)

This episode we (just me and Chris McFeely, with SakuyamonX recording) talk about a few oddities, unknown unknowns, and things that still get dragged around once in awile.

It's quite fun.

Season 2 will be coming soon along with more specials.

The WtW Podcast Special 1- Oddities, Unknowns, and What the...

Cause it has been to damn long, with Socar back though hopefully the problems will be fixed and he's going thru the nearly half dozen or so episodes we TRIED to do that never quite worked to see if they can be fixed up and released.

Go ahead and grab Special 1- Oddities, Unknowns, and What the...

Any questions or comments go here (and this is a long one, with lots of weird stuff, so I expect some questions, and the ENTIRE show is all Digimon, minus a few quick things we bring up)

Enjoy!

ps- cleared out the false start and podcast update threads, hopefully that DOESN'T happen again.

Ugh, I didn't realise I was coming across so muffled at times. I've got a wide head, the mic's too far away from my mouth.  Smiley Try and work on that for the next one...

Well, from what I've gathered working with the Podcast team for the short time I have, I think I can answer your questions.

1.) We use Audacity to record and edit the podcast.

2.) And as for the messenger, we use Skype.

Hope this is all correct, and I hope this helps.

The same narrator was used for both Adventure & 02 in Japan, so in that sense adult Takeru was doing it for both seasons.

Odex dubbing American anime... I fear for Karin. ;;_;; I think they also do the Singapore dub of Yu-Gi-Oh.  Very accurate to the Japanese version, but as discussed in the podcast, poorly performed.

I remember a time long, long ago when I was actually being considered for podcast staff.  If you need any easily-cowed minions, I'm still here, just a PM away.  Cool

I do, which is why I was sarcastic back to you. Don't worry though, I'll get around to saying something mean to you later on.

Great podcast guys, had me stifling laughter while trying to study in the library. While quite ranty at times, it was extremely listenable and also very informative on topics old and new. I find myself agreeing with most of what you say, like the 02 ending and such.

A few things I'd never heard of before (e.g. Momo and Digimon Gladiators, Crispin Freeman cast as Koji) were nice to hear about.

On the subject of Konaka's notes, I've always accepted that the different versions of his preliminary notes were conglomerated together, but strangely I do remember "Digimon Evo" from somewhere. Though it might have been something completely different.

On the Dagomon "plothole," I remember that Chiaki Konaka was a guest writer for the episode and wrote absolutely no other episodes in Adventure 02. So in my opinion, the other writers decided to bin any plotlines he decided to begin.

On the "western sensibility" of Digimon, I do see what you're getting at Chris. Comparing it to other anime series, it's not nearly as overfilled with the clichés and small motifs that characterise most of them - like the hyperbolic sweatdropping and collapsing, and many of the small behavioural things. I don't think I'd go as far as saying they produced and designed it with a Western audience in mind originally, but in later series I suppose it must have been a factor somewhere, considering how big Digimon had got at the time. Considering that, X-Evolution does indeed feel different, as well as look completely different.

Just briefly on the subject of the game, I definitely remember hearing of Digimon World X before hearing Digimon World 4.

Don't you just love the Digimon fandom? There's so much history here. I was somewhat of a noob when Omnitor was around WtW and so I never really visited, but I guess the fallout of the "Puppet Master" saga was widely felt, considering the rumours are still flying around about the cut episodes.

I love the complete randomness of Joe's two brothers being combined, but I would be more worried about the fact that their parents, despite being alive and well, are never seen in season 1 or 2 at all. Ever. Even though everyone else's parents are shown. Although this couldn't be called a dub oddity, just very odd in general.

Again, great podcast. Thanks to both goc and Chris for the interesting banter. Just to say Chris, you do sound a lot like Colin Murphy when you're in rant mode. Uncanny.

On the subject of Rumble Arena 2...

Check the credits. There's hardly a Japanese person in the thing. If any. If I remember right, anyway.
