A few pieces of information that I've been collecting for a few months seem to be coming together since a few Japanese blogs posted about it.

It appears (APPEARS) there will be a new season of Digimon next year.

Apparently to release in tandem with Wii and DS games.

I'm waiting for a few people to get back to me with information (possibly the title) so while it's alright to get excited, just be aware it MAY not be true.

Although I'll admit even I'm smiling.

A few people have commented Vande removed a thread a bit ago about new Digimon info.

She apparently removed it because she wasn't sure of the source, but since I've posted about a new series and never saw whatever the post was in the first place, if anyone has further info, feel free to post it in here.

That would be this source:
http://yunakiti.blog79.fc2.com/blog-entry-4160.html
And as everywhere, reactions are mixed and Digimon Fans disagree which one is the best series. Grin Some even seem to want Digimon Adventure Kai.

New Series would be pretty awesome.

A few posts on that page also point out (I think...) that a semi logical conclusion is that there may be no new series, and that any info may have been confused with the newly announced game.

Although that doesn't match up with info I've gotten lately, but it does seem a reasonable conclusion if you want to stick to potentially safe guesses for now.

Not getting their hopes to high seems like a reasonable and good idea. A lot people hoped that something would be announced on August 1st, but it wasn't...so they are careful.

Going by that page and translation from rach, it may be announced at Jump Festa.

The games may be 'connected' to the anime in some way (may just be release dates...)

The show may be titled 'Digimon Around'

And one person points out that the normal Digimon timeslot is taken up by Dragon Ball Kai, so either Kai will end at the Freeza arc, Kai will go on a break for a season or two, it could change to a different timeslot, or Digimon itself may have a new timeslot.

Wow, great news.  So now we just need to wait until Jump Festa for confirmation. It's in December, isn't it?

Jump Festa is partially info from that page, and partially info I've had for awhile.

The exact page itself does NOT mention Jump Festa, from what I can see and what rach said translation wise, it refers to 'Jump' announcing it.  So it could be announced in V-Jump for example.

But i had preexisting info that it's Jump Festa...

Sounds reasonable.

The games may be 'connected' to the anime in some way (may just be release dates...)

Or probably Character Cameos. The first Digimon Story had that for Savers, Sunburst and Moonlight for Savers and NEXT.

The show may be titled 'Digimon Around'

Strange Title. Ususally Digimon Anime has a title connected to some sort of Adventure ( Adventure, Adventure 02, Frontier ) or people doing something with them. ( Tamers, Savers )

And one person points out that the normal Digimon timeslot is taken up by Dragon Ball Kai, so either Kai will end at the Freeza arc, Kai will go on a break for a season or two, it could change to a different timeslot, or Digimon itself may have a new timeslot.

That is actually why I would have expected a new Digimon Anime to not have start till 2011.

They may try a new time slot to help Digimon. I would put my money on the jump that they mention being V-Jump. Almost makes me want to get a subscription again......

Part of me wants to be cautiously optimistic, so it isn't a major letdown if it doesn't happen now, but the part of me that never gave up hope just wants to go...
F' YEAH!! \m/_ ^U^ _\m/

I'm not gonna speculate until we have more information.  As long as they have the essential Digimon elements (partner bond, digital world, etc.), I'll be happy.  In the meantime, I'll just be sitting here dancing gleefully awaiting more announcements. ^_____^

If there is a new series, I hope it's tied to Adventure or Tamers somehow... I'm feeling nostalgic.  And I really want Bandai to re-release the original Digivices, lol.
