Mods: If this is in the wrong section, please relocate to appropriate sub-forum.

Two weeks ago I got messaged by member Saphiremon and she was all excited because she found this uber awesome book on Amazon.jp. She showed me three or so pics and all I could really make heads or tails of was that it had scene sketches from Adventure episode 21. I didn't know what the rest of the book contained so out of curiosity and being nagged I paid $70 (that's after shipping D: ) to get teh thing imported from Japan and a week later it arrived.

Anyways, now that I own it I also know what it contains.

That's 500 pages of pre-production drawings. They clearly lay out the first movie (Digimon Adventure), the second one (Our War Game!) and to top off the page count they also added episode 21 (Home Away From Home)
It's quite spectacular actually. Of course, now I'm being nagged to scan the thing (all 500 pages) which is nuts. It would take weeks.

Anyways, uh, yeah. If there are any specific pages you want me to scan I'll gladly do so if that is permitted.

*grabs bucket to catch drool* Isn't it against copyright laws to scan such material?

That's the question I need answered.
If the moderators openly say the answer is no to a half dozen pages spread across the entire book then, well I guess you are plumb out of luck and you can just drool over what I already posted. :/

*drool*

I have no qualms with this topic. As long as it isn't the entire book.

Even though it would take weeks, i for one would like some random scans that look awesome. I've scanned stuff in the past, would be nice to see other people's work.

Edit: moved to WtW media and made the pics to links.

Seeing as I'm getting clearance from one of the top admins to go ahead and do a few scans, so be it. I'll scan a few more random pages when I get home from work tomorrow morning.

The book contains storyboard copies of those two movies and episode because they were all directed by Mamoru Hosoda. He's the director for "The Girl Who Leapt through Time" movie and the storyboard for that was published around the same time this book was... I suppose he okay'ed publishing the Digimon stuff as a comparison. It's a really neat book, when you're able to read the director's notes. Lots of "DOKAAAAN" and "BABABABAAA" comments from him. xD

Good luck scanning the thing. I could never do that to my own copy. orz

Same here. I'm so paranoid about breaking the spine. This book is too awesome to ruin that way.

Anyways, I spent an hour scanning and cropping some pages before I made my lunch and got ready for work and here you all go. I don't think I'll be doing any more but if you yourself are willing to pay the $70 or so, You can still buy copies of the book here

Anyways, on to the scans.  Grin

Rats. I was gonna go and scan a few more pages in but I can't because I powered the system with the scanner off and it takes forever to boot back up to the scanner software.

Are there any page requests? If I'm pushed enough I'll wait the half hour it takes the box to boot and scan a few more pages but I'm not doing too many more.

I'll be patient if you can't, though.

Woah! This is amazing, thank you for sharing this with us. I really appreciate what you are doing.

Dunno if I'm asking to much, but I would to know if you wouldn't mind to scan the DNA evolution between MetalGarurumon and WarGreymon into Omnimon. I think it's a scene many of us would like to see. Smiley
It would be great if did so. And if you're willing to do it, just take your time, It can wait.
