Now I'm sure this is something that everyone will be really excited to see in English.  The prequel to Digimon Tamers.

Hope everyone really enjoys this, and thanks to everyone involved.

-------------------------------------------------------------
Digimon Tamers 1984: The Story of When "The Story" Began

This story was originally published in Volume 5 of SF Japan in 2002.

It was written by Chiaka Konaka who wrote the scenario for Digimon Tamers, with illustrations by Kenji Watanabe.

The story was written as a prequel to Digimon Tamers.

Brought to you by: With The Will Scans (http://www.withthewill.net)

Raw Scans: Kaen-Chan
Translated by Grace Anderson (Megchan)
Editor: Vande
QC: godofchaos

Not to be re-edited or used without permission from WtW (godofchaos specifically), this includes alternate language versions.

The story is being translated and released due to it being a single short story from a long out of print issue of SF Japan, and that the story is unlikely to ever be licensed.

PS- There is minor usage of an American Digimon term in Tamers 1984, it was used in the original story.
PS2- The raws were originally only 7 pages, but due to the change in language the template was reused so the font didn't have to be so small.

Please do note remove or edit the release notes from Digimon Tamers 1984.

Dear Santa. Why is your operation located at the North Pole? I'm guessing cheap elf labour, lower environmental standards, and tax breaks. That's pretty good. So, Dolphin's kid came up with the designs of all the early digimon? Interesting.

Is it safe to assume that it was a Greymon that bio-emerged at the lab that night (due to the cover image)?

And may I just say that that is one sick looking Greymon! Wish he looked that cool in the anime.

I think it is safe to say, it was the Greymon.

Yep Keith came up with the designs for the Digimon.

7zip is a good one to open a rar file.

Amazing work, guys. Many thanks for translating this. I enjoyed it quite a bit, though I wish it hadn't been so short. Nice Tamagotchi reference, too.

Definantly cool about the way Greymon looks, the older Bandai design was like that, Toei really scaled a lot of the monsters back.
