Hi everyone!

Just wanted to share with you guys the digimon v-pet I've been working on these few months. Although I would call the game "finished", updates may still come regarding to any possible bugs/crashes or new game content(if I find time to add any). I used the most traditional 16x16 sized LCD sprites, since they are easier to draw and they somewhat look nicer than those larger versions(Seriously, I personally think that most of those large LCDs are HORRIBLE).

I've included many digimon that didn't actually appear in the original/pendulum v-pet series cause I think that will bring more fun to the game. The battle system is rather simple, though, since I am a noob in those "computer-connection" stuff, but it's better than nothing in my opinion Grin. And ya, I made this game using Game Maker 7.0 Pro, which is an amazing software making programming noobs like me still be able to make decent games.

Instructions are built-in. Just press F1 during game to read it. It includes all the instructions you need the progress through the game, including evolution paths. Please read it before you play. So....enjoy!  Tongue
(And ya you're right.. I'm too lazy to post any screenshots Cool)

Gameplay Video:
Here

* Since the update list is getting too long, I've pasted them into a text file and rar-ed it together with the game

== Update 15 April ==
- Added Dracomon, Coredramon Blue and Coredramon Green
- Included a "versions" text file in the rar, which records all updates made

== Update 15 April (2nd Ver) ==
- Added few new frames/cases
- Changed the way digimon eat; they now eat in a fixed position. This is for eliminating the time digimon need to walk to the food and also avoiding the food from blocking the digimon.
- When confirming on exit, the game will go back to the new/load save screen, instead of just closing itself.

Once again, to all those people who have digimon created in previous versions and didn't send your save file to me after, your digimon's evo list should be bugged, where evoB's digimon becomes evoA, evoC becomes evoB, and so on, leaving the last evo undefined. Your digimon may still digivolve to a wrong digimon, or it may just simply be unable to digivolve. So please send me your save files if you want them fixed. Of course, you can always start over if you don't want to bother to send them over.  Smiley

== Update 23 April ==
- Colorized most parts of the game. Some small parts are still in gray scale
- Fixed battle bug

== Update 4 May ==
- Colorized all mega lcds, a small part of ultimate lcds and some other small components of the game
- Fixed mokumon's flickering sprite
- Fixed bug on angry signal

School's starting again, so I think I would throw out an update before being overwhelmed by schoolwork.  Tongue

hey could you possibly need game maker  software inorder to run the program? It downloaded as a simple .rar file with no primary program to run it with so I was wondering if that was the problem.

zer089 - Use WinRAR to extract the file - there should be one EXE file and that's it.

I'll be playing this one often, it definitely has a v-pet feel to it, not to mention you get bonus points for including KingChessmon and QueenChessmon as raisable characters.  I can now say that this week has been VERY good to me (It was my birthday yesterday and I have a D-Gather coming in shortly).  Smiley  I'll keep my eyes open for any glitches and whatnot, and report back if I spot any.

This is definitely a fun program.  Like the original V-Pets, but not quite as much of a pain to control evolutions, not to mention more evolution choices, and training is a lot more fun!  It appears vitamins are the only way to raise strength?  There's no downside to them, is there?
Also, in the help file, it lists Elecmon as one of the Nature Spirits rookies, but not as an evolution of any of the in-trainings.  Did you leave him out, or is there a typo in the help file?

when you click the link and it loads theres a series of letters in the upper right hand corner, you type them in and click the download button. then you wait about 40 seconds and it lets you click a button to begin the download Smiley

Thanks! Please do report if you found any bugs.  Grin

Wow thanks! I really missed that out.. and I can see that you really love leomon Tongue
Now I've added it back... please re-download the file Grin
You can raise strength through training! or did you experience a bug?
The only downside to vitamin is that there is a chance your digimon will get sick. Don't worry though cause you can simply heal it and it won't increase the chance of death or whatnot.

And I forgot to tell you guys one thing... Age does not have anything to do with death... so as long as you took good care of your digimon, it won't die Roll Eyes

I guess she can download an update for her graphics card driver from its website? (depending on which brand she is using, just google the company's website)

try using Hamachi... It's free to download. Set up a network and ask your friend to join it, then use the ip it gives you to connect. It's just a few clicks, very simple. Also remember to add the game to your firewall exception list. Cool

Wow I have to say I really like this Grin It seems so official and put together so well. I think this is the kind of game that Bandai should try to put out next either handheld or console. I am impressed. Smiley

I'm having issues with the Attack training game. I can't find it in the instructions. How does it work? What are the controls?
