In place of godofchaos, and attempting to keep the deadline of today, I am going to kick off this thread with the first offerings release notes.

Originally planned to launch with a crew interview from the japanese production crew, but decided to hold off and see if after the first release that maybe we could find a translator.

For the first release I decided to 'remaster' a video i was given a number of years ago over the net.

This is the opening to the Italian version of Digimon Adventure.  I was given it by a friend a few years ago as an .rm.  The audio from the rm was yanked out via digital soundcard recording to a 128k mp3 (audio isn't great by any means, I prefer flac but it wouldn't have done much if anything).

Now, the video is interesting, when I was given the file, it didn't have the Italian video.  The file had a low res copy of a tv-rip of the japanese OP.  Tracking down a decent copy of the Italian video proved to be...unlikely, so instead me and FET (yeah, that crazy sumbitch is our encoder) took the textless OP from my Digimon Adventure 01 Boxset and did his encoding voodoo with the digital soundcard recording I did from the rm, turning it into a high quality avi.

Hope you guys enjoy it, and if you can translate or sub, get in touch with me.  I got some amazing things planned for WTW Videos, and while it woulda been easy to just go get raws and do another group fansubbing 01, 02, Tamers, Frontier, Savers, or even the movies, I think there are enough groups doing that now, so WTW will provide something different, and hopefully, toss a few rarities out there that otherwise wouldnt be seen by most of you.

-------------------------

The videos site now gets its first release, rejoice fans, Digimon Adventure 01 Opening Theme (Italian Version) is here to rock your socks off! And best of all, like scans, still direct downloads. (The file itself is about 32.3MB.)

I think this really came out well, but since I am an incredibly stuffy guy in most ways, I have to resort to lame explanations lest I am too stuffy and scare you fine folks. Hopefully you all enjoy this, and tell us about it; you've gotta tell us what you think, because we need ammo to shoot at Fet to get him to, you know, do stuff... more often... than once a year....

If you want to access the site (and I hope you do) you can either go to:
http://videos.wtw-x.net/

Or click the nav bar labeled WtW Videos.

ENJOY, NOW!

And thus we are America - seemingly the only country too lazy to avoid dubbing our own version of the theme.  I definitely want to see more, though I wouldn't mind seeing a higher-qual version of the Italian theme as well.  That song just rocks.  Many thanks!

actually, it seems to be split about a 1:1:1 ratio

about a 1/3rd use the american version (or a dub or alteration of it), 1/3rd use a dub/alteration of the japanese theme, 1/3rd use their own song

but yeah, if people want it theres definately tons of sources i can keep getting audio from- my own personal video collection of foreign ops, a few tv rips from other countries, or randomly going around the net and gathering audio

just to keep into account, all would use the japanese dvd video, the few i have video of are far far to junky to release as a high quality rip...of course, if the song is really short, will probably use the american video, depending on which the songs match up to the closest

as for audio quality, many/most never got a commercial release, and are off the air, so audio will be as good as we can find, unless someone comes to us with a fantastic sounding version.....if we find better later, i have no problem redoing them

Umm, this is almost EXACTLY what I released like 5 some months ago.  Ie, international opennings of Digimon overlayed on japanese (textless where available) OP video.  In fact, those download links are still active.  For those of you who don't remember what I released, it was

Digimon Adventure (Butterfly)
640x480 Textless DVD rip
Japanese
German
Spanish
Italian
Chinese (Cantonese I think)
Thai
and 2 unknowns

Digimon Adventure 02 (Target)
640x480 Textless DVD rip
Japanese
German
Thai
Chinese
Spanish
Italian
Version airred in Mexico

Digimon Tamers (The Biggest Dreamer)
480x360 Textless DVD rip
Japanese
German
Chinese
Italian
Spanish
Portugese (Brazil)

Digimon Frontier (Fire)
640x480 Textless DVD rip
Japanese
Italian
German
Chinese
Portugese
Spanish
Latin

Japanese, German and Thai rips are all off CDs, Chinese 01 and 02 are CD rip, everything else was TV rips, so quality varied.

I guess, but different sub groups spice their tanslations and effects differently, chucking pretty much the same audio files onto video doesn't change much group to group.

Well, mine are still up where they were before if anyone wants them.

And where would that be?  I'd very much like to hear some of the other int'l openings, if just to reinforce my growing hatred of the dub.

I have the 4 aired in Spanish (Mexico) (It was for all latin america).

It's difficult to say which versions you have, you put in some seasons only spanish, but there are Spain Version and Mexico Version.

And i have the endings too.

Main problem was that a lot of times, the MP3s I found were just labeled "Spanish", some were labeled Spanish Mexican, or Brazil.  So I just said the language was pretty much exactly how the MP3s were labeled since I wouldn't be able to tell which version are which.  I think in most cases though it is the Mexican version.

All 4 files are on my web site.

I had considered doing this with the dub OPs, but so few dub based OPs exist compared with the rather large number of japanese based OPs that I didn't really feel it worth releasing a file that only had 3 audio tracks on it.

PS.  Korean 01 version is japanese based, but they mixed the OP is shorter and they moved some OP scenes around to shorten it.
